French King Wood Server Table / Canteen of Cutlery
A stunning antique French style server table with the added bonus of being fitted out with a beautiful and complete canteen of silver plate cutlery. The table dates from around the 1950’s. The 121 piece set of silver plate canteen of cutlery was made in Sheffield by the high end manufacturer Roberts and Belk.
The table is beautifully made and is of very high quality. There is a gorgeous combination of solid walnut and king wood veneers, embellished with gold on the edges. The carving is exquisite, especially on the feet. We have had it completely re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
We are antique furniture specialists, not cutlery specialists so we have left the cutlery set as is, it would benefit from a good clean. It is however of extremely high quality and would clean up beautifully. It consists of: 24 fish eaters, 12 table knives, 16 table forks, 12 soup spoons, 24 dessert eaters, 12 dessert spoons, 2 sauce ladles, 4 table spoons, 2 huge ladles, a set of three carvers.
