Super quality and very decorative 19th century French Empire period cheval or dressing mirror.
Original mirror plate in good condition and also, original brass mounts throughout.
There is a full width single drawer to the frieze which is oak lined and runs smoothly.
Lovely piece and the mahogany has a fabulous pale tone and has polished very nicely.
There would have originally been a pair of candle sconces which would have fitted into the shield brasses to the round columns, but these have been separated at some point. I don't personally feel that anything detracts from the mirror, but I can source a suitable pair of you would prefer.
Good condition, solid frame and a beautiful piece.
Measuring:
72’’ or 183cm high x 34’’ or 86.5cm wide. Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
