Fine Diamond and Peridot brooch

This antique brooch features an oval-cut peridot set in gold, accented by eight old-cut diamonds in white metal settings. Likely from the late Victorian or Edwardian period, the combination of peridot and diamonds gives a clean, classic look, and the craftsmanship is typical of quality jewellery from the era.
The oval peridcot is approx 16mm long, and the diamonds total around 0.6ct, with the two large ones at about 0.2 each.
The brooch is held by a strong steel pin, secured with a gold flap lock. Although unmarked, the yellow metal tests for high carat gold. Under the pin is a gold loop which may have been for a safety chain, now lacking.
The brooch is presented in its original box from Eastman & Son, Jewellers, Canterbury. A straightforward and well-made piece of antique gold and gemstone jewellery, ideal for collectors or anyone seeking original antique gemstone jewellery with historical charm, enduring elegance and practical wearability.
Peridot is the birthstone for August, and for Diamond it is April
