English Victorian estate safe in original paint
There are many surviving example of 19th century safes, but as both a functional and a desirable piece of delightful proportions, this really is one of the nicest examples we’ve seen. With original black and beautifully textured paint the safe, meant for use for the Manor & Wilton deeds, dates to 1853.
The original key - a rare occurrence - remains with the estate safe and the lock is still fully working.
Measuring 38 cm x 39 cm x 25 cm
c. 1853
