This is a fine quality antique Edwardian English landscape oil painting, in its original gold leaf frame, in excellent original condition, circa 1910. The English landscape oil painting depicts a rural valley, with two people picking flowers / fruit in a hedgerow, whilst a third person, who is standing near a fence look on, set in front of rolling hills in the background. The artist has a good way of depicting the natural colours of the landscape and trees. The timing of the day is emphasised by the pink on the mountains and the darkness of the foreground. The artist is unknown as the painting is not signed, but it is extremely well painted.
The English landscape oil painting has the skill to draw you in with its range of rustic colour hues and texture depicting the quintessential English rural country landscape scene, probable painted in late summer. The oil picture is framed in its original fabulous ornate gilt frame, which is in excellent condition.
