Danish NIPU tambour front rosewood cabinet, 1960s
This is a fabulous Mid Century Modern cabinet / sideboard in beautifully figured rosewood designed by Marius Byrialsen for the Danish company NIPU in the 1960s. The two tambour doors open to reveal modular shelving. It stands on four short round section chrome legs.
A faded circular label with the letter N for 'NIPU' and 'Super Top' is present front top right and the back is also stamped in ink which includes the manufacturer's name.
Dimensions:
Height 86 cm
Width 101 cm
Depth 40 cm
Condition: The cabinet is structurally sound and in very good vintage condition with some wear as you might expect after 60 years of use. The doors slide open easily and the rosewood veneers are in good condition with just one small chip which is difficult to spot. The internal lock is missing and there are some small filled holes at the top of the tambour doors where we believe an external lock was fitted in the past. The hardboard shelves are probably later as well as the legs.
Delivery: This cabinet can be delivered to most places on mainland England and Wales for £50 by our trusted delivery person. You can also arrange your own courier if you prefer or collect in person from the Tunbridge Wells area.
