A hand carved oak panel, depicting an effigy of a crusader knight, set on a ring and dot background..
Clearly a one off, the carving is both naive and primitive and all the more effective for that.
The oak panel itself is of some considerable age, possibly 16th century, however the age of the carving itself is difficult to date, so we will not attempt to date it.
The effigy shows the face of the knight as unfinished, possibly deliberately.
The large size of 22 ¼” x 10 ½” x 1” thick makes it a superb decorative item. Feedback its our Biggest Asset. Please read some of our feedback below.
