Arts and Crafts Gothic Medieval Revival Casket Box
A wonderful and stunning Arts and Crafts medieval revival reliquary casket or coffer, made circa 1880-1900, and Byzantine in style. It likely originates from Central / Eastern Europe. It is decorated with motif including eagles and flowers and strap work decorated with studs and embossed Crosses. The metal panels are interspersed with studded and stained sections and an ornate lock hasp and hinges. It is constructed of walnut with a pine base and has turned bun feet with studded decoration. UK mainland postage is included in the price.
It measures 45cm (17 3/4") high, 45cm (17 3/4") wide and 25.5cm (10") deep. The condition overall is pretty good, with some age related wear and tear. A couple of studs are lacking and one of the feet is a replacement. It comes with a key which fits the aperture perfectly but won't turn. Once item/s are delivered you have 14 days to cancel the order. Return of your purchase(s) must be within 14 days of this cancellation date.
The cost of the item/s and any delivery charge paid by the buyer will be refunded, whilst the cost of returning the item/s is at the buyers’ own expense.
