Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen 1960s Chairs
Early original Mid Century "Butterfly" chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. There are 3 black and 3 light grey chairs. The black chairs are the early design and possibly first edition, having metal plate cover to the underside stamped FH DANMARK. Original black lacquered finish to the bent plywood, lightly cleaned chrome-plated legs, replacement underseat stabilizers and chair glides. The light grey chairs are slightly later, being produced in 1967 which is stamped on the plastic cover bases. Original light grey lacquered finish to the bent plywood, lightly cleaned chrome-plated legs, original underseat stabilizers and replacement chair glides.
In good original condition.

Light Grey - 79cmH x 49cmW x 50cmD (seat height 43cm) Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
