Antique 9CT Gold Bute Golf Club Harry Hope Medal
An antique 9CT Gold Golfing Medal awarded by The Bute Golf Club for the Harry Hope Cup in September 1914.
The medal hallmarked with "9" and ".375" for 9 carat gold alongside the Birmingham town mark and date letter.
The medal engraved with the club name - "The Bute Golf Club". Also "Harry Hope Cup - September 1914", the centre with the recipient's initials "WJE".
It measures 25mm in diameter. The weight is 7.2g.
Sir Harry Hope (1865 - 1959) was a Scottish Politician and was Member of Parliament for Buteshire during the period 1910 - 1918.
