A Victorian walnut fitted jewellery box
A high quality Victorian burr walnut jewellery box with all its original fittings. The lid which has a working key, opens to reveal the blue lined interior with ten glass containers all surmounted by their original engraved silver plated lids. The front tray lifts out to reveal a further storage compartment. A brass knob to the side lifts to release a fitted lined drawer. The interior of the lid has its original gathered velvet lining. The inside of the box is all original and while the original lining of the box is showing a little wear. it is generally in excellent condition. One of the rectangular glass bottles has been cracked and repaired, see photograph. Sizes: 12”(30 ½ cms) wide, 8 ½ “(22cms) deep, 7”(18cms) high. Date circa 1870.
