A small early 18th century west country court cupboard of lovely proportions and comprising of two small doors at the top, a drawer to the centre and a larger cupboard below all having finely turned knobs.
The court cupboard comes in two sections the top has two mortise and tenon joints which slot together, fixing the top to the base.
The cupboard has an array of elaborate carved panels interestingly only one side has carved panels yet the other side has plain panels. Which would suggest that this piece was made for a specific place in a house hold where only one side and the front of the cupboard was shown off.
The cornice has a nice dental molding and below (centre) the owners initials I.E.S with the date 1713.
The cupboard has had some restorations which is to be expected with a piece of this age, however the overall condition is excellent.
