'Old English Household Life - some account of cottage objects and country folk'
A very rare book by Gertrude Jekyll 1843 - 1932, who was most famous for her classic country garden designs, and also an enormously influential woman in the late Victorian period.
The book published in 1925 by B T Batsford, of London.
222 pages with nearly as many original black & white photos & illustrations.
Bound in the original red leather with gilt lettering, and in excellent aged condition, although some light staining and single inscription to the inside cover.
The book gives an incredible insight to cottage life in the 19th century and earlier, with details of the main implements and objects in common use at the time.
