Substantial mid 19th.c. black and green variegated marble mantel antique clock by Ollivant and Botsford of Paris and Manchester c.1870. Large white enamel face with fine black numerals and maker’s name, original steel hands and a brass brocot anchor escapement with ruby jewels. Eight day works striking the hour and half hour on a bell, with a clear maker’s stamp. Gridiron style temperature-compensated pendulum. Imposing case with a drum top, marble roundels and fluted columns. With original brass bezel and bevelled glass with a small scratch, otherwise excellent condition. The works have been cleaned and overhauled and are sold with a 12 month guarentee.
