Description

A 17th century portrait of a gentleman, in the manner of Nicolaes Maes 1634 - 1693.
The portrait is of superb quality, depicting a gentleman posed slightly turned to his left, wearing a green jacket with lace neck tie , and large red sash held delicately by his hand .
The portrait has some evidence of restorations to the back, were some rips have been repaired and some touching in on the front,with some minor cracks to the restored areas.
The portrait comes in its original frame, which has a lovely worn gilt surface, overall the painting is in good condition.
