Description

An early 18th century portrait of a gentleman circle of Sir Godfrey Kneller. Brilliantly painted , the portrait shows a unknown gentleman wearing a large wig with his head turned slightly to the right, and he is finely clothed with a white neck scarf and crimson red jacket.
The oval portrait is housed in a gilt carved frame with some minor losses commensurate with age.
Overall, the painting is in excellent condition for its age, with the back showing signs of relining a long time ago.
