Here is a good quality antique Victorian style cast iron fire grate, circa mid 20th Century, in excellent condition, originating from the UK. Benefitting from a freestanding design, the item features a castellated basket with decorative riveted vertical spike bars for keeping the logs in place. The internal grate can be removed from the basket, allowing for easy cleaning. The grate features a pair of integral dogs that boast a twist column design with shaped ends. The dogs and basket are integral and welded together, meaning the item is more stable and sturdy (therefore safer) than those that are independent of the grate. This also means the fire grate does not require assembly. The item's construction is of cast and hand forged iron.

The grate features an attractive finish, giving it a fantastic colour and appearance. The item's finish and good condition can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report
This fire grate is in excellent original condition. The item is solidly jointed and robust. Nominal old use marks, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no breaks to the cast or weld. The internal grate is a later addition. The grate features an attractive lacquered finish, giving it a fantastic colour and appearance. This item is reassuringly solid and heavy and is ready to use.

UK Delivery
Delivery to any address in mainland England & Wales is £60. For delivery to Scotland & Ireland, please email for a quote. If you wish to avoid the delivery cost, you can collect the item in person. Delivery will be made by our own specialised furniture delivery service, or in some cases we will use a courier service for distant deliveries. We will inform you by email and/or telephone and provide you with full delivery details including when to expect delivery. Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks (depending on location). We will contact you to arrange the delivery day please ensure you give us a contact number to aid the delivery process. Delivery includes insurance we can assure you that the packaging standard is second to none and will fully protect the item.

Free 14 Days UK Returns & Refunds
A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit). This refund policy only applies to deliveries to the UK.

International Buyers
