Description

A superb set of eight hand crafted oak elbow chairs, each individually named from Ecton Hall in Northamptonshire. These chairs as we understand were made for each sitting magistrate and are carved with their name and date. They are all carvers and are made from solid oak with shaped seats and in the Arts & Crafts style with triple splat backs and curved arms. The inscriptions read as follows J.S.Richardson 87-90. M.Lloyd 89-92. M.Lupton 98-01. I.B.Balfour 99-03. M.J.Vincent-Jackson 01-05. R.A.Toller 04-05. M.H.O.Donovan 05-09. G.H.Williamson 11-13. Seat Height 43cm. Arm Height 68cm. NB These chairs have seen a few historical repairs, however they are very solid and in good condition. circa 1880-1920
