Description

A superb quality 18th century mahogany pedestal desk. The desk comprises of ten deep drawers in the pedestals of the desk with a central drawer above the knee-hole. To the back of the knee-hole is a hinged cupboard with a single shelf. No Keys. Unusually this desk is fitted with an adjustable desk top which would indicate that it was designed for an architect however this piece came from The Crown Office Chambers in Temple London. To the back of the desk are nine open pigeon holes all integral to the make up of this fine piece. Knee-hole measures Height: 68.5cm x Width: 43cm. The desk height without the pigeon holes is 83.5cm circa 1780-1800
