Description

A very good quality oak bureau bookcase from the 1920's. The turned feet support the twist stretchers and legs above which are one long and two short drawers all with original polished brass knobs. The sloping fall has blind fretwork decoration and inside is a well fitted interior. The bookcase top has a carved frieze which unusually is repeated down the sides. The two astragal glazed doors give way to three shelves. There is a trace of a old fracture on the slope which was probably restored twenty years ago. Other than that the bureau bookcase is in great condition and breaks into two pieces for easy transportation.
