Description

A fine quality antique cabinet originally commissioned for Ruscombe House and was part of an extensive dining suite. Most likely used for drinks, glasses and accessories buy fitted in a way that it could be used for other purposes. Made from beautifully figured burr walnut veneers and embellished with gilding to most of the carved detail, giving a richness without looking garish. Beneath the twin cupboard top is a pull out slide with inset plate glass used for serving and mixing drinks and under that is a pair of well shaped drawers. This piece is very much in an early Portuguese style and the strongly detailed stand does separate from the top section for easier transportation. A rare and beautiful item in great condition.
