Rare Early 19th C Gillows Windsor Chair

Description
A rare early 19th century Windsor chair by renowned makers Gillows. Having a Ash spindled back solid Elm saddle seat. The whole raised on turned Ash splayed legs and joined by a crinoline stretcher. Wonderful condition throughout with good colour. English, Circa 1800.This chair would have originally been painted in green paint and remnants remain to the underside of the seat. We share a sketch from the Westminster Archives (1798) showing the identical chair. This style of Windsor was unique to Gillows.
