Description
An iron and brass fire grate in the French Regence style with a turned two bar basket, above a brass vitruvian apron and surmounted by a pair of flambeau finials. The rectangular backplate depicts a procession of playful cherubs one of which appears to be riding a goat. The grate is supported to the front by a pair of ornate Louis XIV style andirons surmounted by further by flambeau finials.Probably French, circa 1900.
