Description

A super sweet late 19thC Welsh Cricket Table of beautiful form. Featuring a traditional octagonal top with lightly chamfered edge. This top is in Labernum, a timber rarely found in furniture but more typically found in smaller pieces and Treen. Labernum is a superb hard wearing timber with exciting two tone colour and pretty grain, but t grows extensively in the hedgerows of West Wales especially prominent in the Teifi Valley where this table is from.
This gorgeous top is supported on a pine base with bobbin turned legs, a lovely feature of the late Victorian period.
Original throughout and in absolutely beautiful condition with superb colour and patina and fantastic grain.
Standing level and sturdy with a nice usable sized top perfect for a couple of glasses of wine or lamp or vase. With just a small number of very old worm holes to mention (which we have treated just as a matter of practice) as is always the case with early pine.
An absolutely lovely period piece of early Welsh furniture.
