Description

A beautiful Welsh Box Settle of elegant form and desirable small size at just over 4ft long - Pembrokeshire c1780. Constructed from beautifully grained oak with pine panels.
In exceptional original condition with lovely deep colour and wonderful surface. Having a gently sloping back and comfortable seat height. The seat opening into a box base offering superb storage.
A much sought after piece of Welsh country furniture this settle is both strong and stable, suitable for daily use and really comfortable too. A really nice example from mid Pembrokeshire this beautiful little settle would have originally sat next to the fireplace in a village tavern.

We at Welsh Vernacular are renowned for the quality of the settles we sell, they are highly practical items and look as well in a hall or kitchen as they do in a living room or conservatory. We often sell them to people looking for attractive storage solutions as well as seating, they are great for storing away items such as wellingtons and walking boots or your firelighters and kindling for the stove, horse riding tack, painting and decorating and odd job items that may freeze or perish if left in an outbuilding.
Both practical and comfortable these antique pieces could not be more suited to modern requirements.
