A charming and unusual English solid walnut country side chair made by hand in circa 1720

The vase shaped splat set within deeply gadrooned rails. The squared back legs, formed and continuous with the gardrooned back rails, are also in solid walnut and joined with original shaped offset stretchers. The simple cabriole legs to front terminating in attractively shaped shallow pad feet.

Complete and original frame, the overstuffed seat newly and professionally upholstered in a top quality heavyweight pure silk made by the Gainsborough Silk Weaving Company - an exact copy of an original 18th century design in rich dark green and gold.

A chair with great character and of a lovely pure form.

19 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 40 inches high.
