Description

A very handsome and high quality walnut footstool, of George I design, with cabriole legs, with carved accents and inner carved border, with scallop shells over drop bell husk carved knees , beatifully scrolled feet and shaped curved apron with channel carved borders.

Newly upholstered in a very pale cream silk with embroidered summer meadow pattern of flower heads and butterflies. With double piped border in the plain silk to finish. Solid with no weakness and no movement to the joints. No woodworm.

Well padded, extremely comfortable and sturdy, a most impressive and beautiful 19th century stool of generous proportions.

18 inches high, 26 inches wide, 16.5 inches deep.
