Description

A very good quality finely detailed bronze with lovely warm brown patina by the renowned French sculptor Ernest Rancoulet (b. 1870 d. 1915).

Rancoulet is known for his Neoclassical bronzes of mythological gods and creatures and here is a young man dancing, performing for the onlookers. He plays a buisine (the medieval straight trumpet) and carries a second. His body wrapped lightly with a fleece and below his feet a leather bag, full of money we hope from his entertained admirers, the bag is signed Rancoulet.

On original natural red marble domed plinth. The whole in excellent original condition without breaks, damage or repairs to the bronze or base. Free UK delivery
