Description

A charming and original mid-17th century oak spice cabinet with lovely parquetry foliate inlay to the top, sides and front and sitting on small bun feet.

The fall opening to reveal six original drawers each inlaid with foliate designs and with original cast handles.

The cabinet retaining its original lock and key and is dated inside the fall with a small label, in a script that appears to be late 17th or early 18th century which dates the cabinet as ‘1651’.

A fine, authentic example in superb original condition.
