Description

A good late Georgian mahogany two pedestal desk with tooled leather writing surface. Each pedestal with five drawers and one central drawer. Provenance: this piece from Durford House Sussex until recently which had been the family home of the radical reforming MP Richard Cobden 1804-55. A small attached label underneath the desk bears the inscription Miss Cobden suggesting that it belonged to one of Richard Cobdens well known activist daughters.
