Description

A set of four three-legged dining chairs (model 4511) designed by Richard Young as part of the G-Plan range for E.Gomme, c1962. This is one of G-Plan's signature chairs. Made of teak, three-legged with rounded triangular seats upholstered in turquoise velvet, crescent-shaped backs. This compact shape allows six chairs to be accommodated around a small circular table. Makers label to the underside, dated 1962.

Price is for the set of four.

These chairs are a British design icon of the 1960s and are very rare. They are featured in Lesley Jackson's book "Modern British Furniture, Design since 1945". After his stint at E Gomme, Richard Young went on to found Merrow Associates.
