Description

A mahogany centre table retailed by Liberty & Co, from 1889-1913. Initially advertised as "Cairo folding stands" they were sold as two separate pieces: the folding support and the "tray" table top. They offered a selection of table tops: Initially just natural or stained wood, but by 1913 the choice included hand carved wood, inlaid mother of pearl and Benares brass options. This table is made of mahogany, and at some point has been converted from separate parts into a single table. It is in immaculate order.
