Antique silver watch fob/medal.
Silver fobs were often used to decorate a gentleman's watch chain. They were also frequently engraved and awarded as sporting trophies.
This fob, which features a central shield shape cartouche surrounded by a foliate and scroll pierced border, has not been personalised/engraved.

The fob is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1893. The maker's mark is partially rubbed, but is probably that of the Sydenham Brothers.

The fob measures 3 cm (1.1") by 3.5 cm (1.4"), excluding the suspension ring, and weighs 7 grams.
All measurements are approximate.

The fob is in good condition, with surface scratches and wear commensurate with age.
