Description

A fine early 19th century English miniature portrait of a gentleman in a rosewood and gilt frame. The frame is typical of that produced in the 1840s and may be a little later than the painting itself which is considered to be from circa 1830. The gentleman looks very elegant in a black frock coat with wide lapels, black silk cravat and high collared white shirt.

Dimensions: 17 x 14.2 cm. Frame is 2.7 cm deep.
Weight 234 g

Condition: Painting and frame are in good antique condition with marks commensurate with age. The picture was taken apart in our workshop to clean the underside of the glass and reassembled as before using traditional gummed paper tape to seal the back.
