Description

A pretty Late 18th century George III faded mahogany kneehole desk of small proportions raised on ogee bracket feet. A plain solid top with reeded edge rests above an arrangement of seven pine-lined drawers with one long and two columns of three graduated short drawers flanking a recessed central cupboard with shaped apron. The brass bail handles and oval escutcheons all appear to be original, and both locks are provided with working keys (though one looks to be a modern replacement). The flame figuring to the mahogany cupboard door is also a nice feature.

This is a good choice for a small space to fill whether it is in a living room where it could function as a lamp table or as a bedside table / dressing table in a single bedroom.

Dimensions: Width 76 cm x Depth 45 cm x Height 75.5 cm
Width 30 inch x Depth 17 3/4 inch x Height 29 3/4 inch

Condition: Very good antique condition with some minor, almost invisible, professional repairs to the tops of the sides. It has been French polished in its recent history and there are a few small scratches to the polish on top and a darker patch in the centre of the top where a box or dressing table mirror may have sat for a long period of time. We like the faded colour and it would certainly suit those who are less fond of dark brown furniture.

Delivery: This cupboard can be delivered by our trusted delivery man to most places in England and Wales for £60. Please contact us to confirm the delivery cost.
