Description

This is a superb Late Regency brass inlaid rosewood writing slope in fine antique condition and with its original keys still present and working. Brass inlay borders consisting of a scrolling design adorn the top and front, with an elaborate central name plate for H. Fraser 1830 on top and a decorative escutcheon with working key to the front. Brass flush handles are present to the sides. The lid opens on brass hinges to reveal a pen tray, two open compartments for ink bottles (missing) and the original deep magenta velvet covered writing slope. A small key opens the slope to reveal an additional storage area below.

Condition: The writing slope is in very good antique condition with all inlay present. There are minor repairs to two of the top corners which are quite subtle.
