Description

This is a very good quality early 20th century Indian enamelled brass tray top table on a painted wooden folding base. The circular top has a rope twist rim and a recessed central panel with a scallop edge. It is finely engraved throughout with bands of repeating floral designs where the petals of the stylised flowers are highlighted in red and pale blue vitreous enamels.

The top is supported on 6 turned legs arranged in pairs with each pair joined by two stretchers separated by an arrangement of spindles.

This is a useful little table - it makes for a perfect coffee table where space is at a premium or as an occasional drinks table which can be folded up and stacked when not in use.

Condition: The table is in very good antique condition. The top has no dents and minimal losses to the enamel. The base has been painted in an off-white colour at a later date and though the paint is a little chipped we found the slightly distressed look rather appealing. All the spindles are present though one of the finials on the legs has been replaced.
