Description

This is an attractive late 19th century octagonal ebonised occasional table on a pedestal base, possibly Italian though clearly influenced by the Aesthetic Movement. The top is crossbanded with alternating bands of tulipwood and satinwood and inlaid with a marquetry design of scrolling foliage. The bands are separated by ebony lines and the central panel is ebonised. It is raised on a central octagonal cross-section column and four swept legs terminating in iron castors. The marquetry inlay continues onto four sides of the column and legs.

Dimensions: Height 70 cm (27 1/2 inch) x Width 72 cm (28 1/4 inch)

Condition: The table is in very good antique condition having been cleaned, minor veneer repairs undertaken, waxed and buffed in our workshop. The carcass is made of pine which makes the table quite light and easy to move around. There is slight warping to the top. Please contact David if you would like to see additional photographs
