Description

This is a stunning Art Nouveau silver-plated pewter platter relief moulded with fish caught in nets and aquatic plants including water lilies and bull rushes, marked with inter-twinned initials Z and H with the date 1913 engraved below. Our research has yet to identify the manufacturer's mark but the detailing and quality would suggest an Austrian or German origin.

The design is full of energy with swirling water, sparkling fish and a net swollen with its haul. The light catches the composition beautifully as can be seen in the photographs. The colour is silver so any other colours observed on the pictures are purely reflections.
