Description

This is a handsome Edwardian mahogany kneehole inverted breakfront desk of 9 drawers with an inset tooled and gilded green leather working surface. The top is cross-banded in mahogany with a moulded edge. The drawers are mahogany-lined with quadrant beading along the long sides of the interior and are opened using brass swan-neck handles. Each pedestal stands on bracket feet.

Dimensions: Width 4 ft x Depth 20 3/4 inch x Height 31 1/4 inch
(121 x 52.5 x 79.5 cm) It's a medium sized desk ideal for a bedroom as well as a study.

Condition: This a solidly constructed desk of good quality. It is in fine antique condition with marks commensurate with age. The handles are original as is, probably, the leather writing surface. The leather has partially split along its length down the centre. There is a split in one of the back panels but this would normally be hidden against a wall. Please note that this desk does not break down like some pedestal desks.
