Description

This is an elegant Regency mahogany serving table or sideboard, English c.1810. Consisting of a rectangular top above two short beaded drawers each with a brass knob handle and shaped brass escutcheon, the table stands on four square section, tapered legs from which is suspended a shaped galleried shelf.

Its relatively small size at 3ft 6in would allow this table to be used in a variety of rooms as a side table or a lamp table, while the lower shelf would be useful for storing magazines or books or for displaying some large pieces of glass or pottery.

Condition: The serving table is in very good antique condition. The top and shelf are made from attractively figured solid mahogany. There is a less faded area on the top where it was protected from the sun and some filled screw holes close to the edge on the short sides. The shelf has some dark stains and is a little chipped on the edge at the front.
