Scandinavian Woven Birch On Pine-framed Trunk

Description
This is an attractive Scandinavian dome-top, woven birch on a pine frame trunk dating to the late 19th century. It has steel handles to the sides and a lock plate to the front on which is attached an old padlock. It is well constructed and surprisingly lightweight. Although an overall pale brown colour, the satin birch strips shimmer in the light. The remains of old paper labels on the right side are evidence of its past life as a travel trunk.Dimensions: Width 65 cm, Depth 38 cm, Height 45 cm
Condition: Very good antique condition with no breaks in the woven strips.
