Description

This is a magnificent pair of mid 20th century Chinese hand-painted blue and white vases of globular form converted to table lamps and recently rewired. The quality of the decoration including stylised peonies and trailing foliage is of an exceptional standard.

The porcelain vases are fitted with dark wooden plinths and matching caps on the necks. The height of the brass rod can be adjusted by turning a screw above the neck. The lamps have been matched with 50cm shaped empire silk shades as seen in the last photograph, and these can be purchased separately.

Dimensions: Height to shade ring (as currently set) 55 cm, Height to top of ceramic body 46 cm, Diameter 26 cm
Weight 4.13kg & 4.02kg respectively (bases only)

Condition: The porcelain bases are in excellent condition, without chips or cracks. The old two core flex has been replaced with gold-coloured 3-core flex, plugs and lamp-holders renewed and the wiring PAT tested by a professional electrician. The lamps are offered without shades but the two off-white empire shades can be purchased for £150 for the pair.
