Description

This is a handsome teak chest of 6 long drawers designed by Gunnar Nielsen Tibergaard and made in Denmark in the 1960s. The quality of this chest shows in the figured veneers used on the drawer fronts which flow from top to bottom, the carved and inset solid wood handles, the solid wood tapered legs and the overall robustness of its construction. Attractively figured veneers continue on the sides and even the back bearing the stamp 'Made in Denmark Designed by Tibergaard', and which in normal circumstances is rarely seen, is nicely finished.

Condition: The chest, which has had a fresh coat of Danish oil, is in fine vintage condition with just a few marks from its 60 years or so of use.
