Description

This is an original Japanese woodblock print of a fashionable beauty by Kunisada, Edo Period c.1843 - 46. It shows a woman holding a lantern while strolling along the river bank in the evening. In the background a huge procession of people some carrying lanterns on long holes traverse a bridge (believed to be the Ryogoku Bridge in the Eastern Capital) with boats crowding the river (Sumida River?) below.

Dimensions: Height 37.5 cm by Width 25.5 cm
Black mount 48 x 37 cm

Condition: The print is a good impression with strong colours, and with several repaired worm holes. The repairs were clearly professionally carried out as they are difficult to spot from the front.

Postage & packing: £7.50 within the UK. Please contact us or a postal quote if you live overseas. The prints will be sent with its mount and between two pieces of card.
