This is an eye-catching coffee table of Moorish design made in Morocco about 40 to 50 years ago. Rectangular in shape, it possesses an elaborately engraved copper tray inset into the top with a stunning lattice-work frieze composed of hundreds of turned spindles on all sides, and stands on four square section legs.

The copper tray is hand-crafted with bands of nature-inspired design, including running deer, and Arabic calligraphy, and these surround a central panel containing traditional Moroccan and Arabic symbols. The wood is quite pale in colour with attractive figuring throughout.

Condition: The coffee table is in excellent condition with a few marks commensurate with its age. The lattice-work is in superb condition with just one tiny spindle replaced by a rod, which is almost impossible to spot.
