Description

This is a superb Anglo-Indian sadeli-work micro-mosaic folder or blotter, c1890. Of rectangular form the sandalwood, bone, pewter and ebony inlaid covers open to reveal a deep purple velvet lined interior. The quality of the inlay work is quite extraordinary. This folder could be used to protect some special photographs while at the same time providing an attractive adornment to a desk or side table.

Dimensions: Height 26 cm Width 22 cm Depth 2cm Weight 703g

Condition: It is in lovely antique condition, giving the impression that it was hardly ever used. As is typically the case with sadeli boxes there are minor losses to the inlay work - four small areas of sadeli are missing (see final photo which shows two) but you have to look hard to find them.

Postage & packing: UK delivery is £6.50. Please contact us for a postal quote if you live overseas.
