Description

This is an elegant, tall pair of Chinese rosewood and cloisonné stands dating from the early 20th Century. They are in perfect condition and are beautiful objects in their own right without the need to display vases or plants.

The square tops are inset with circular, finely worked cloisonné panels, the first depicting two birds with one resting on a branch with cherry blossom while the second depicts flowering bulbs in a floral decorated container with a crouching foo dog sculpture along side and loose bulbs and tubers in the foreground.

The rest of the decoration is very restrained with pierced carved friezes present on all four sides, the square section legs joined by stretchers near their base and a simple pattern of C scrolls carved in low relief decorating the foot of each leg.

Dimensions: Tops 32cm square (12 1/2") Height 90cm (35 1/2")

Condition: Excellent with no damage or repairs. Although these stands were clearly made as a pair the rosewood on one stand is noticeably darker than on the other stand.

Delivery: These tables are waxed and ready to display in your home. They can be delivered to most places on mainland England and Wales for £50 using our trusted delivery person.
