Description

This is a nice quality dagger, or knife, believed to originate from Bhutan, and most likely dating from the 19th Century. The pommel and scabbard are covered in eastern silver which have been embossed to create floral designs. On the display side of the scabbard the embossing is restricted to three panels, an oval-shaped panel in the centre and smaller ones at either end, which are separated by areas engraved with floral motifs. In contrast, the reverse side has a much simpler floral design. The steel blade has a single sharp edge.
