Description

Silver-mounted Nepalese kukri knife with buffalo horn grip, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather with deep locket and chape, both of which are worked in silver. The locket, or throat, has a bird, and what appears to be a bee, worked into the design, whereas the latter has a more simple design of scrolling foliage surrounding a kite-shaped plain central panel.

Condition: The overall condition is good. The leather scabbard is worn with a hole on the convex edge. It lacks the small utility knives which would have originally been stored in the sheaths at the back of the scabbard.

Dimensions: Total length 41 cm Blade 23.5 cm
